From the national park Poloniny in Slovakia across the border to the primeval forests in the national park Ushansky in Transcarpathia (Western Ukraine)
From the peak of the mountain Kremenec (1.221 m) you cross the primeval forest Stuzica and you arrive the Slovakian village Nova Sedlica, where you find the information centre of the national park Poloniny. The primeval forest route follows the European hiking trail E8 to the border crossing point nearby the village Ubla. On the ukrainian side you arrive at the little town Welykyj Beresnyj. In this town the adminstration of the national park Ushansky is situated. Here the well marked Carpathian hiking trail starts and passes Carpathian mountain range in the Ukraine. The primeval forest route follows the Carpathian hiking trail. The first of higher mountains you arrive is the top of the Javornik-(1.017 m), on the way you pass virgin beech forests (UNESCO-world heritage of nature).
