From the primeval forest Boubin along the Nordwaldkammweg across the Bohemian forest and the Austrian czech border region to the primeval forest Zofin
The European primeval forest route leads from the forest Boubin southwards to the border crossing point near Nové Údoli, to the Bavarian village Haidmühle and up on the top of the Dreisesselberg mountain. At this location the Nordwaldkammweg (blue-white marking) begins, a long distance trail across the Bohemian Forest and the Mühlviertel highland, partly located in the Austrian-czech border region (Green Belt) (at the same time European long distance hiking trail E6). Following the famous Schwarzenberg logging waterway and across the Hochficht you arrive the competence centre of wood land in Schöneben. Behind the high moor Bavarian Au the primeval forest route switches from Austria to the Czech Republic, there to the Vltava dam lakes, afterwards again switching back to Austria (border crossing point Schwedenschanze). Across the wetlands of the river Maltsch (Natura 2000 area) you hike up to the Green Belt Center in Windhaag. Near the village Windhaag you cross the border to the Czech Republic and walk to the primeval forest Zofin (Sophien-forest).
